Divestitures Consulting

Divestitures are complex and risky transactions. To increase your odds of success, leverage our specialized expertise and flexible operating models. We can support your “in-house” deal team, manage the entire transaction from its earliest stages through post-closing implementation, conduct in-depth due diligence, or serve as your independent advisor. When it comes to divestitures in the aerospace and defense (A&D), automotive, healthcare, natural resource, retail, and TMT industries., it is never too late to call us.

Getting Started

How long does it take to get started with a divestiture? While every situation is unique, Strategic Value Partners (SVP) typically interviews 10-20 stakeholders over the course of a week and reviews corporate and business unit strategies. From here, next steps are tailored to each client’s needs.

Are divestitures really that different from other types of M&A transactions? Yes. For buyers and sellers, the complexity and risks associated with cost allocations, quality of earnings (QoE) analyses, diseconomies of scale, contract assignability, transition services agreements, and non-competes are higher than in other types of M&A transactions.
